The region of Aquitaine comprises the five départements: Gironde(33), Dordogne(24), Landes(40), Lot-et-Garonne(47) & Pyrénées-Atlantiques(64). In contrast to the vast, flat lands of Gironde and Landes, our area is a more intimate, gently rolling country-side, studded with many picturesque small towns and villages. There are many 'bastides' - survivors of about 150 fortified towns built between 1200 and 1350.

Castillonnès and Eymet are typical: streets cross each other at right-angles and converge on a central, arcaded square, once with a covered market hall, now mostly open. As in many French towns, there are still weekly open-air produce markets one morning a week, and in summer there are often night markets. At Issigeac there is a very popular Sunday morning market and a restaurant that offers 'brunch'.

There are good restaurants** at Castillonnès, Issigeac, Lauzun & Eymet and of course the bigger towns of Bergerac and Villeneuve. Exceptionally, our small village Lalandusse has a bar/pizzeria (05 53 71 55 15).
Castillonnès & Eymet both have two supermarkets, several 'boulangeries', bars etc. Castillonnès has an excellent cinema showing recent films, some in English.

Boussions is 20 minutes' drive from Bergerac airport with frequent flights from UK (Flybe and Ryanair) & Amsterdam (Transavia). Car hire at the airport from the major firms Avis, Budget, Europcar...

			Boussions is in the small commune of Lalandusse at the top border of the Lot-et-Garonne département (47). Just across the river is the Dordogne (24). We are 7 km from Castillonnès, 12 km from Eymet, 24 km from Bergerac, 40 km from Villeneuve-sur-Lot. From Bergerac: N21 to Plaisance, turn right onto D25 to Falgueyrat, 2nd left sign-posted Lalandusse, cross the river, continue to the first 4-way cross-roads, turn left, Boussions is immediately on the left. From Villeneuve: N21 to Castillonnès, continue down & round the bends, turn left onto D1 (sign-posted Lalandusse, Cahuzac, Lauzun, Miramont); after 4km turn off right into Lalandusse village, continue down & round the bends, over the first cross-roads, & Boussions is on the right just before the next cross-roads. From Eymet: D25 direction Falgueyrat; after the turnings to St. Aubin de C. continue down the slight hill & just after the right-hand bend turn right onto the narrow C202 sign-posted Lalandusse, cross the river, at the next 4-way cross-roads continue straight & Boussions is immediately on the left. In all these country lanes an element of priorité à droite still applies. Take care!
